Bellatrovata

The nave, apse and ambulatory of L'Eglise Saint-Etienne de Vignory (just north of Chaumont in Champagne) is essentially the same as when it was built in the mid 1000s. The church was the model for the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo - Tuscany's very old and most beautiful abbey church, built in the 1120s and though there are several major differences, it is certainly true that the two 850 - 950 year old churches share a very similar look and feel inside.
